McGill exploits Concordia's defensive strategy in convincing win
SOCCER - Martlets 3, Stingers 0 The Concordia Stingers came into Friday night's game at Molson Stadium forsaking offence in favour of defence. The McGill Martlets made them pay. McGill ran roughshod through Concordia's back lines, and the defence-only tactic largely kept the Stingers away from the McGill net as the Red 'n' White triumphed 3-0 in a battle of unbeatens.
You know you do it. You stay up late, and when everyone else is in bed, you watch it on television. Sure, you do it at home sometimes, but you know you're not nearly as good as the professionals, so you watch what they do and try to learn from them. And wow, they seriously know some wild tricks.
SOCCER - Redmen 1, Stingers 1 The McGill-Concordia soccer matchup Friday night had all the makings of a classic collegiate sporting battle: a heated rivalry, physical play, a close game, and even a rowdy Molson Stadium crowd pulling for the home team. The only thing missing was a victor, as the two teams played to a 1-1 tie in the annual Gow-Breganski challenge match.
McGill sits two games above .500 at halfway point
It's starting to look like 2002 again for the McGill Redmen-and that can only be a good thing for a football team that struggled badly throughout 2003. After dropping their first game, the Redmen have rebounded with three straight wins, the same thing they did in 2002 on their way to a 7-1 regular season record and a trip to the national semi-finals.
I would like to start with a short exercise-a word association of sorts-so humour me if you will. What words come to mind when describing French culture? If your mindset was anything like mine, those words would probably be couture, sophistication and elegance.
Should the criminal justice system have a role in sports?
There was a time when people attended sporting events as a distraction, to get away from real life. There was a whole other world within those sidelines. Instead of meetings in the boardroom, you saw meetings on the pitcher's mound. The only traffic you saw was in front of the goalie.
RUGBY - Martlets 68, Gaiters 0 The McGill women's rugby team ensured that it would not be a sweet homecoming for the Bishop's Gaiters. The Martlets ruggers came out firing on all cylinders at Bishop's Friday night, shocking a much-improved Gaiters' squad by a score of 68-0 on the pitch in Lennoxville.

Q: Describe your typical day. A: A day actually feels more like a week to me. I have to deal with the new athletics website (www.athletics.mcgill.ca) now, so I spend a couple hours a day updating that. I get about 70 to 80 e-mails a day, in addition to three dozen phone calls, so I spend a lot of time responding to requests.
